^Lot 1634 WWII GERMAN FORESTRY LEADER CUTLASS BY EICKHORN.

A nice etched Forestry Cutlass by Eickhorn measuring 18 3/4" overall with a finely etched 13" blade. Etching includes various hunting scenes and game animals. The ricasso is marked " ORIGINAL (logo) Eickhorn SOLINGEN " and the pad is in place. Gilded hilt with a stag on the clam shell guard and a hoof quillon. Well embellished knuckle bow and ferrule. 2-piece off white grip with 3 acorns on each side. Gilded brass mounted leather scabbard with acorn frog stud. CONDITION: blade shows some original factory polish. Hilt has lost some of its gilding but is still quite striking. Grip has a few age lines and 2 of the acorns have notable wear/damage.
